Of the players, 25 are from New South Wales, 15 from Queensland, and three from the Australian Capital Territory. Two players are coming from New Zealand.
The players be divided into three Philippine Airlines (PAL) Teams Blue, Red, and White.
“All the Filipino-heritage players are excited to represent the Philippines and do their best for their country of heritage, with all players having one or both parents of Filipino descent,” a PNRL spokesperson said.
The three teams will be supported on the day by family and friends coming from all over Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Brisbane and Northern Queensland.
Further support is expected from the Philippine Community Council of NSW and the Filipino Australian Movement for Empowerment.
Support from the Philippine Government side will come from Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis and Consul Marford Angeles.
The PAL Tamaraws are inviting Pinoys to come to the tournament at the Cabramatta Leagues Club on February 2. More information on the PAL Tamaraws can be seen on their website www.pnrlf.com.
