BANKSTOWN Lions soccer club picked a 12-year-old Filipino-Australian for its Men’s State League Premier 2 rep team this season and already the young striker has rewarded the club with three goals and several assists over eight games.
Bailey Pimentel, of Menai, booted his third goal of the season against Parramatta FC at Melita Stadium, Parramatta, with the Lions winning 4-1, on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
He hit the net in the first half, came off in the second half, but returned just six minutes before the final whistle to assist his teammates with two more goals.
The Lions went down to Hills Brumbies, 4-1, on Saturday, May 11, at the team’s home-ground Jenssen Park, Regents Park. Bailey played the first half and came off in the second half.
He was back in the field with five minutes to play and promptly made one of the team’s most promising solo drives at goal but his lob floated across the goal posts and off the left as the final whistle blew.
