AS PART of 2013 Philippine Independence Day celebrations, Fil-Oz Social Golf Club tees of the 18th Philippine Airlines Kalayaan Cup on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Macquarie Links International Golf Club.
Chief organiser Ric de Vera said prizes will include airfare to Manila from Philippine Airlines to the overall champion, cash for division winners and runners-up, and trophies for section winners.
‘’This is now considered the biggest, most well-attended and an institution in the Filipino-Australian golfing community in NSW,’’ de Vera said. ‘’In attendance are consul generals and consular officers of Asean countries Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, including their main social golf club members.
“It is expected that 130 golfers will register this year, mainly from the Filipino-Australian social clubs members and their friends.”
The tournament starts with light breakfast at 9am, followed by the tournament from 11am to 4pm, presentation of prizes and awards to winners, a Filipino food buffet, and drawing of raffles.
Main prizes include airfare to Manila courtesy of Philippine Airlines for the over-all champion and cash prizes for division winners and runners up; plus individual trophies for all winners.
