SOCCER football makes an entry into this year’s Fiesta Kultura 2013 on Sunday, October 6, at the Fairfield Showground, Smithfield.
Philippine Australian Sports and Culture Inc (PASCI) president Manny Castillo said that trials will be held for players with Filipino heritage aged 16 to 19 years to form Azkalroos, a team that would tour the Philippines for friendly games against United Football League (UFL) Youth sides in Manila.
The trials, starting with Fiesta Football on October 6, will comprise five-a-side teams playing again each other, and will continue until the end of November, when the Azkalroos squad will be named.
“Football shirts and shorts will be provided for all participants at Football Fiesta,” Mr Castillo said.
The Fiesta Football format will be as follows:
* Five-a-side teams play on a 30m by 40m field.
* Game time: two halves of 20min, with 5min half-time break.
