TOOWOOMBA’S local crowd favourite Jack ‘The Assassin’ Asis (29
wins (18 by KO) 15 losses and 5 draws) will take on tough Indonesian workhorse Arief Blater (20 wins (7 by KO) 12 losses and 1 draw) on a Ringstar’s Big Fights boxing card promoted by Brendon Smith on Friday, March 14, 2014.
Asis, who has featured on majority of the Big Fights cards, brought the house down last time out in a controversial majority draw.
According to his trainer-manager Brendon Smith, the Filipino also known as the ”Smiling Assassin” learned a lot from his last fight and was ready for the world’s best.
“Jack is ready to fight the best in the world,” Smith said. “I believe he is one of the best in the world and we are willing to fly all over the globe for a shot at a title.”
The Asis v Blater fight will be an undercard of â ‘Smithy Brings the Big Fights 6’ program be headlined by the return of Australia’s former world champion Michael Katsidis against Indonesian Eddy Comaro.
Also featured will be undefeated local star and Australia’s current WBC world youth featherweight champion Brayd Smith fighting against Argentina’s Jose Saez.
Completing the boxing card are: Undefeated and current WBC youth world light heavyweight champion Damien Hooper up against fellow local and current Victorian light heavyweight champion Josh Webb; undefeated local KO artist Kris fighting undefeated boxer Ozan Craddock for the Queensland welterweight title; heavyweight Herman Ene taking on current Queensland heavyweight champion Kyle Brumby; local boxers Graham Blay against Hess; and crowd favourite Tressa Lindenberg against Sam Williams.
