FILIPINO featherweight Carlo Magali takes on tough Campbelltown favourite Davey Browne jr for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Eurasia Pacific Council super-featherweight title at the Whitlam Centre in Liverpool on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

Magali comes from last year’s drawn match with Dennis Tubieron for the vacant WBC International featherweight title at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex, Paranaque City, Metro Manila.
Judging by that tight encounter with Tubieron, Magali is expected to match Browne’s brawling style with the same ferocity. It was Tubieron’s boxing savvy that saved him from Magali’s muscle-power.
Magali replaces another Filipino, super-featherweight Czar Amonsot, who had been originally scheduled to fight Browne, according to the promoter Chin Music Promotions.
The boxing card also features up-and-coming Australian fighters Val Borg, Mohammad Yari, Jared Treloar, Rocky Jerkic, Filipo Masoe, and Simon Osborne.
Magali comes from the town of Talibon in Bohol, Philippines. He kicked off his boxing career with a third-round knockout of Tata Ladera on July 4, 2006.
Magali established an impressive boxing record with victories in the Philippines and Japan before taking a break from the game between 2010 and 2011.
On his return to the game, Magali had mixed results. Now he plans to put his boxing career back on a winning track against Browne.
Part of the proceeds will go towards supporting the Starlight Children’s Foundation, an institution dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
