TWO teams from the Sydney-based football academy Azkalroos take the field in a futsal five-a-side holiday weekend tournament as part of the annual Filipino Fiesta Kultura in Sydney on Monday, October 5, 2015.
The tournament, which takes place at the Fairfield Showgrounds, will comprise two sides for the Azkalroos, one side from the Nepal, and one from the Indian communities.
Azkalroos director Andrew Fletcher said the tournament’s format will have only one round, with each team to play three games and the top two competing in a final.
“The champion takes home the Perpetual Fiesta Futsal Cup,” Fletcher said. “Awards for the Most Valuable Player, Golden Boot, and Best Goalkeeper will be sponsored by the Azkalroos official sponsor MoneyGram.”
The tournament will kick off at 9am.
The draw is as follows:
Game one 9am: Philippines 1 v India. Game two 10am: Philippines 2 v Nepal. Game three 11am: India v Philippines 2. Lunch break 12pm to 12.30pm. Game four 12.30pm: Philippines 1 v Nepal. Game five 1.30pm: Philippines 2 v Philippines 1. Game six 2.30pm: Nepal v India. Final game: 3.30pm. Award presentation at stage two: 5pm. Game One 9am: Philippines 1 v India Game Two 10am: Philippines 2 v Nepal Game Three 11am: India v Philippines 2 Lunch Break: 12pm to 12.30pm Game Four 12.30pm: Philippines 1 v Nepal Game Five 1.30pm: Philippines 2 v Philippines 1 Game Six 2.30pm: Nepal v India Grand Final 3.30pm Presentation Stage Two: 5pm.
