THE Hills Hornets under-14 girls and boys competed in two divisions at the inter-pool games throughout the week at the National Club Basketball Championships on September 30-October 5, 2019, in Victoria, at the newly opened Ballarat State Sports Centre.
Three Filipino-Australians in the Hills Hornets sides played in guard positions: Jolzyne Impreso, U14 girls; Andrei Honrada and Ashton Pahanel, U14 boys.
They finished with the following point scores: Jolzyne, 97 points, Andrei, 109 points, and Ashton, 69 points across eight matches.
They were the only three Filipinos who represented the club at the tournament.
The Nationals closed on October 5 with the boys taking the division trophy division a thrilling overtime game against Hawthorne Magic.
The girls won the silver medal in the Shield division final after going down to the Mackay Meteorettes fof Queensland.
